oh, you mean THAT desktop...
So, basically since the first week of arriving in Russia I've been suffering trying to get pictures on the web. The things I go through for you people. No, really, I do want to get pictures up because the weather is changing, and I'm meeting people and going places and I just don't know how to properly describe it all for you. But anyway, Veronica (my older exchange sister) took pity on me and got most of the pictures off my camera onto the computer before she flew off for Merry Old England. The problem is, I didn't know where she put them.
So. Yesterday morning, I mention this difficulty over the breakfast table. My host mother looked up over her sausages and said, "Pictures? They wouldn't be in a file marked Dzulia, would they?" Well, she didn't exactly say that, but I'm translating.
"Yes!" I said, astonished. "Where did you find them?" I'd been searching for quite some time.
"On the desk top," she said, returning to her sausages. I could not believe it. But there they were, sitting squarely in the center of the screen, the whole time. Things like this really make me wonder what my host family thinks of my intelligence level.
Without further ado...
Really thought you were going to get them that time didn't you? Don't be bitter, I thought so too. All right, so they aren't loading, so if you want them, please e-mail me and I'll try to send them as an attachment. Stop your griping. This is just as frustrating for me as it is for you.

YES, YES! Send pictures! But, you will need to be careful, since you have limited speed on your e-mail uploads. Each picture will take a long time to upload, each time you hit "send". So, use multiple addresses in "To" list; or let me know and I'll forward.
love, Pappa.

I hope you're actually in some of them! If you're not, you'll be getting a hot little earful from me later. XD
Truth be told, I think we're all more interested in seeing what's become of you than we are in a snapshot of a smiling bronze likeness of Lenin. Have you acquired a furry hat? Have you gained or lost weight on that Russian diet? Do you have FACIAL HAIR?! *GAAAAAAAAAAAASP* Really, try to get pictures of yourself too. Russia's interesting and I'm sure you've been to some incredible places, but we all miss you more than the Motherland.

SPREAD DEH WOID! XD
Really, Sam... *exasperated sigh* You should employ telemarketers or a monkey telegram service if you want the publicity so badly. This is Julia's turf and it's quickly devolving into Sam's Spam World. I'll frequent your blog as soon as you embark on a campaign for global dominion or travel to another country. You'll get a lot more hits that way. And there's always email.

Oh-ho, so you think I don't see your petty plans to use my blog for your own puny designs of world domination, eh? Well I do, wretched Sam. I do.
Yours,
The Eye of Sauron

Howdy, Ed!
Oy. Tell me about--if I'm not careful, I am definitely going to gain weight living here. The running and the kick-boxing are a huge help, but still. I'm sure I've gained some weight living here. Russian food and I are going to have to have words about this.
On the furry hat--it is in the near future. I have been scoping out the furry hat market, and will soon make my kill. And, um, no facial hair as of yet. I'll keep you posted.
And be assured, I miss you all tremendously. Send me pictures too!

Dear Ed Kim (Edwardias Von Kimmelstein)Haven't you heard about my current campaign to conquer the world? Frankly, I'm insulted. it also shows that I need to spread the word more. Actually, i don't really care about my blog. It isn't THAT good, but maybe i just don't have as much time to kill... you know, conquering the world can be strenuous. I've come to the conclusion that it's because of people like you I have to "do away" with.
